Elsie "Po Napauz Uppeshau" ("Sunflower") Morrison is an indigenous elder and tribal council member of The Pokonoket Tribe of the Pokonoket Nation, and is a member of the Snipe Clan. She is also a descendant of the Narragansett, and Sioux tribes, and of African and European decent as well.  She is a family historian and writer.  Sunflower has been an active advocate for human rights, the indigenous community and persons with disabilities for over 30 years.   Sunflower is the Founder of Dream Weavers Inc.

Kathryn “Po Ne Paumashau Nesh Toonahash” (“She Walks with the Wind”) Morrison

Kathryn “She Walks with the Wind” (Po Ne Paumashau Nish Toonahash) Morrison (Hewson) (she/her) is an indigenous member of the Pokanoket Tribe of the Pokanoket Nation. Kathryn works as a ETS Planner & P2P Specialist at P&G. She connects to the land through gardening and sharing her harvest with the community. She loves farm to table cooking, teaching about indigenous culture, language, and the importance of carrying on those traditions to the next generation of leaders. She practices the culture and ways of her people through song and dance in gathering circles. Kathryn is committed to educating and truth telling of the silenced stories of indigenous and native nations. She lives in RI (the ancestral lands of the Pokanoket, Narragansett, Niantic, and Nipmuc Nations) with her husband and children.
